Abstract :

The Global Hunger Index (GHI) was reported to have been developed as a tool for tracking hunger at Global, Regional and National levels as well as to attract the attention of policy makers in the fight against hunger. GHI is disseminated annually since 2006. It was initially published by International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and Welt Hunger Hilfe. In 2007, the Irish NGO Concern Worldwide also became a co-publisher. Presently it is released by Concern Worldwide and Welt 1-3 Hunger Hilfe . Based on GHI, the rank of India for last five years is as follows:
